The Falling of Conventional Learning
1997, Sydney, NSW
Burnt wooden school chair
95 x 40 x 35 cm
In 1997 Marc created a site specific installation whereby he burnt an antique wooden school chair and then installed it on top of power cables outside Sydney’s College of Fine Arts.
This work was grounded in satirical symbolism around learning through experiences and in so doing supporting it’s overall message.
This was achieved whilst also exploring themes around ‘thinking outside the box’ and questioning any conventional thinking.
